In his response letter to the Film Chamber, Kamal Haasan maintained his stance and did not offer an apology. He expressed regret over the misunderstanding of his words, clarifying that he spoke with respect and affection towards the Kannada film fraternity, including mentions of the late Dr. Rajkumar’s family and actor Shivrajkumar.

“I have immense respect for the land and language of Karnataka. Like Tamil, Kannada too has a rich history and culture,” Kamal stated in his letter. He expressed sadness over the turmoil actor Shivrajkumar had to face due to the controversy.

The actor emphasised that his comments were misinterpreted and reiterated his respect for Kannada language and culture. Despite the Film Chamber’s insistence on an apology, Kamal Haasan’s defiant letter reflects his unwillingness to backtrack on his original remarks.

The episode continues to stir debate across Karnataka, with fans and officials closely watching how the situation unfolds.
