The movie's day 1 advance bookings have not met expectations

'Indian 2' has closed its day 1 advance booking at ₹11.20 crores gross

Kamal Haasan's loyal fanbase could increase box office collections

Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2,’ directed by Shankar, has been one of the most highly anticipated films in India, especially after the global success of ‘Kalki 2898 AD.’ Despite the collaboration of such big names in the Indian film industry, the movie’s day 1 advance bookings have not met expectations.

‘Indian 2’ has closed its day 1 advance booking at ₹11.20 crores gross across the nation, encompassing all languages and excluding blocked seats. This figure includes over 6.25 lakh sold-out tickets in India. While this is a significant number, it falls short when compared to the first installment, which was a huge theatrical success and received highly positive reviews from critics.

The film boasts an ensemble cast including Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash, Manobala, Vennela Kishore, and Deepa Shankar, among others. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music for the film, adding to its appeal.

Despite the modest advance booking figures, Kamal Haasan’s loyal fanbase could drive an increase in box office collections in the coming days. Haasan himself has expressed greater excitement for ‘Indian 3,’ stating that his interest in ‘Indian 2’ was primarily due to his love for the third installment.

The release of Akshay Kumar’s movie ‘Sarfira’ around the same time sets the stage for a box office battle between two of the biggest stars in the Indian film industry. It remains to be seen which film will come out on top in terms of earnings and critical acclaim.

While ‘Indian 2’ may have had a slower start than anticipated, the film’s potential remains high, given its stellar cast, dedicated fanbase, and the possibility of future installments that have already piqued interest.
