A tragic terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir claimed the life of a Kannadiga tourist, Manjunath, from Shivamogga. The incident occurred at around 2:30 PM today when terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists.

Manjunath had travelled to Kashmir along with his family for a vacation. The group was reportedly visiting a tourist site when unidentified terrorists began firing indiscriminately at civilians. Manjunath was fatally wounded in the attack. The status of other family members remains unclear as official confirmation is awaited.
Upon receiving information about the attack, military personnel and the Jammu Police rushed to the location. An Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) is currently stationed at the site and has launched a search operation to track down the perpetrators. The area has been cordoned off and security heightened.
The attack has sent shockwaves through Shivamogga, where residents are mourning the loss of a local. Karnataka authorities are in touch with their counterparts in Jammu and Kashmir to ensure the safe return of Manjunath’s family and to bring his body back home.
