The protests over Cauvery have spread beyond Karnataka to other parts of the state and internationally as well.

Kannadigas in Switzerland have extended solidarity on the occasion of the state wide bandh. “Cauvery nammadhu” (Cauvery is ours) slogans were raised on the streets of Switzerland. They expressed their objection over the release of the Kaveri river towards Tamil Nadu. “Namage Kaveri Kottubidi” (return Cauvery to us) slogans were also raised.

Protests were also witnessed in Ramanagara. Photos of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar were attached to models of donkeys and a procession was carried out with the same.

Chikkamagaluru residents also demonstrated their dissent. A model with the photo of DK Shivakumar was burnt. This had resulted in a conflict with police officials.

In Chamarajanagar, vehicles with a Karnataka registration were kicked. Many vehicles turned back on the sight of protestors.

In Mandya, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin was likened to a demon. Blood was poured over his photo. One of the protestors injured himself in the protest and was given first aid by the police.
