A hotel located near Nexus Mall in Koramangala, Bengaluru, has stirred major outrage for displaying content on its signboard that was deemed offensive to Kannadigas. The hotel in question, GS Suite, came under immediate public and police scrutiny after the signboard's message went viral and was widely condemned for disrespecting the local community.

In response to the growing anger, local authorities, including the police, visited the hotel to investigate the matter. Southeast DCP Sarah Fatima also addressed the issue and acknowledged the public sentiment. Gurudev Narayan Kumar, President of the Kannada Chaluvali Kendra Samiti, has filed an official complaint against the hotel. He further appealed to BBMP Commissioner Maheshwar Rao to permanently cancel the establishment's license, emphasizing that such actions deeply insult the dignity of Kannada-speaking people.
Following the complaint, a manager named Sarfaraz was taken into custody, and an FIR has been registered against the hotel owner, Jamsad, who is currently in Kerala. The complaint alleges that GS Suite’s owners used demeaning language about Kannadigas on their signage, which was seen as a betrayal of the very land that allowed them to establish their business. The activist group insists that no further leniency should be shown to those who humiliate the local culture.
The written petition to the BBMP calls for strict and permanent action, stating that businesses benefiting from the state's resources must respect its people and language.
