Parent of a student barged into the principal's cabin

Teacher had asked the student to do sit-ups

Police have access to the CCTV visuals of the incident

A teacher was roughed up by a parent of the student who had barged into the principal’s cabin when the principal was having a discussion with the teacher. A student was also present in the room. The principal tried to intervene in the matter but could not prevent the teacher from being assaulted. It is being reported that the parents were upset at the teacher as he had punished a student by asking him to sit-ups. 

The incident occurred in the South City Public School located in the Hanumanth Vihar locality in Kanpur. The video of the incident had also been captured on the CCTV camera placed in the principal’s cabin. The X (formerly known as Twitter) account of the Police Commissionerate Kanpur Nagar took cognisance of the issue took cognisance of the issue and stated that the Superintendent of the Police Station of Hanumanth Vihar has been informed of the incident and that necessary measures would taken with regard to the incident.

The CCTV footage has been obtained by the police who are currently carrying out investigations pertaining to the matter. However no complaint has been filed by either party. The police have stated that they would initiate action on the basis of a complaint.
