Karnataka: 26 private Pre University colleges record pass percentage of 0; 2 government colleges also feature in list

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) released the results for the 2nd Pre University Certificate (PUC) exams on 10th April. Bengaluru South has a pass percentage of 82.3 whereas Bengaluru North has a pass percentage of 82.25. Bengaluru Rural has a pass percentage of 83.04. 

Certain private institutions, aided institutions along with government institutions have however recorded a pass percentage of 0. Private institutions are however leading in comparison to others in this regard. Questions have now sprung up pertaining to these figures. This is in the context of exorbitant fees charged by private institutions. The fees are sometimes in the range of lakhs of rupees. However the quality of teaching is getting reflected in the result.

There are 35 such institutions across Karnataka. 26 of them are private institutions. The Sri Dayananda Pre University College in the Sindagi region of the Vijayapura district of Karnataka is a prominent name among the 26 universities.  2 government institutions feature in the list. The Government Pre University College in Davanagere and Dharwad are the 2 of them. 6 of the institutions are aided institutions. One of the institutions which is the Dr Ambedkar Pre University College is unaided.
