AAP highlighted approval of 'Premium Bus Aggregator Policy 2023' in Delhi

This move will alleviate challenges like traffic congestion and air pollution

The Karnataka Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has urged the Congress government to implement a premium bus service similar to the one in Delhi to manage the traffic in Bengaluru.

Jagadish V Sadam, a senior leader of the AAP in Karnataka, penned a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, emphasizing the need to replicate the successful Delhi model in Bengaluru.

“On behalf of the Aam Aadmi Party, I am appealing for the introduction of premium buses akin to those in Delhi in key cities of Karnataka, especially Bengaluru, to address the city’s traffic and pollution concerns,” he stressed.

The letter highlighted that the recent approval of the ‘Premium Bus Aggregator Policy 2023’ by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is expected to promote the use of public transport among the upper middle class, leading to a more robust transportation system and a reduction in traffic and air pollution.

The introduction of modern buses equipped with various amenities, such as air conditioning, WiFi, GPS, and CCTV, could encourage many to opt for public transportation over private vehicles. Such a move could effectively alleviate significant challenges like traffic congestion and air pollution.

“We remain optimistic that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will promptly address this matter and take necessary steps to tackle the traffic and pollution issues in the city of Bengaluru,” Jagadish Sadam appealed.
