  • It was a GPS-based survey for the alignment of the bullet train
  • The alignment would follow that of the BCE for 90% of its path
  • CBM Bullet Train is a 435 kilometre proposed line

AARVEE, an engineering consultancy company, has conducted surveys in Kolar for the bullet train project that is envisioned to transport passengers between Bengaluru, Chennai and Mysuru. It was a GPS (Global Positioning System) based survey for the alignment of the bullet train. The alignment would follow that of the Bengaluru- Chennai expressway for 90% of its path up to Bengaluru.

There have been suggestions that building a line along Bengaluru- Hyderabad or Bengaluru-Pune would have been more fruitful as the Vande Bharat train is already operational between Bengaluru- Chennai.

The Chennai- Mysuru high-speed rail (CBM Bullet Train) is a 435 kilometre proposed line that will pass through 9 stations in the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Between Chennai and Bengaluru, Poonamallae, Arakkonam, Chittor and Bangarapet will be covered. Between Bengaluru and Mysuru, Channapatna and Mandya will be covered. Portions of the route will be underground and at an elevation as well. It is envisioned to hold up to 750 passengers and travel at an average speed of 250 km/h with a maximum speed of 350 km/h. It is one of the 6 high speed six high speed rail corridors commissioned by the Government of India in 2019.
