Karnataka Bandh Has Minimal Impact in Bengaluru; City Functions Normally

The Karnataka bandh called by pro-Kannada organizations, led by Vatal Nagaraj, has had little impact on Bengaluru, as the city continues to function as usual. Despite the bandh, public transport, markets, and essential services remain unaffected.

BMTC and KSRTC buses are operating without disruption, ensuring smooth commutes for residents. Railway services are also running on schedule, with no noticeable drop in passenger movement. The metro is functioning normally, and auto-rickshaws are readily available. Key commercial hubs like K.R. Market and Majestic remain open, with vegetable and fruit markets also operating as usual. Even at Victoria Hospital, the situation appears unaffected.

The bandh was called in response to the alleged ill-treatment of a KSRTC conductor in Belagavi a few weeks ago. However, its effect on the city has been minimal. A notable development was the arrival of Maharashtra state buses in Bengaluru, drawing attention amid ongoing tensions between Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, a protest rally is planned to take place at Town Hall, starting from Freedom Park at 11:30 AM. Although the police have denied permission for the gathering, organizers remain defiant. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any law-and-order issues.

Overall, Bengaluru remains largely unaffected by the bandh, with normal life continuing uninterrupted.
