The Karnataka government has imposed a ban on sub-conventional aerial platforms, including drones, paragliders, and balloons, in Bengaluru from February 10 to 14, citing security concerns during Aero India 2025.
Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda issued the directive under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhitam (BNSS). Authorities highlighted the potential misuse of such platforms for surveillance or attacks during the high-profile event. The ban is aimed at ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order.

Aero India 2025, Asia's largest aerospace exhibition, will take place at Yelahanka Air Force Station. The biennial event, themed "The Runway to a Billion Opportunities," aims to position India as a global hub for manufacturing military aircraft, helicopters, and advanced avionics.
The 15th edition of the show will feature a range of activities, including a curtain-raiser, inaugural ceremony, Defence Ministers' Conclave, CEOs’ roundtable, and a showcase for iDEX start-ups. Air shows and an exhibition highlighting the India Pavilion will be key attractions.
The first three days (February 10-12) will focus on business, providing a platform for collaborations between Indian and international firms. February 13 and 14 are designated as public days, offering visitors a chance to witness thrilling air displays and explore the exhibits.
By fostering partnerships and showcasing technological advancements, the event is expected to strengthen India’s aerospace sector and promote indigenisation efforts.
