The Karnataka BJP has strongly criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s Budget 2025, accusing the Congress government of Islamizing the budget and neglecting SC, ST, and OBC communities. BJP leaders alleged that several provisions in the budget were disproportionately focused on Muslim welfare, sidelining other communities.

According to BJP, the budget includes reservation for Muslims in government contracts, ₹50,000 assistance for Muslim marriages, and ₹150 crore allocated for Waqf properties and graveyard infrastructure. Additionally, funds have been earmarked for Muslim cultural programs, PU colleges with hostels in Ullal, and reduced KEA fees for Muslim students. The budget also proposes self-defense training for Muslim students and the establishment of ITIs in Muslim-majority areas.

BJP leaders took to social media to express their discontent, claiming that the budget was biased and exclusionary, offering only symbolic benefits to SC, ST, and OBC groups while prioritizing Muslim welfare. They labeled it the “bankruptcy model” of the Congress government and accused the ruling party of vote-bank politics.
The Congress government, however, has defended its allocations, stating that the provisions aim to uplift marginalized communities. The political battle over the budget is expected to intensify as BJP leaders plan to raise the issue in the upcoming Assembly sessions.
