Karnataka Congress MLA BR Patil has levelled massive allegations against own party ministers. In a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, he has complained that as many as 20 ministers concerned have employed third party members to collect bribes for release of funds.
BR Patil is also a district incharge minister. The letter has been signed by 10 MLAs in all.
While the letter has the potential to embarrass the Congress, senior leader Priyank Kharge, on his part played down the incident, saying the CM has clearly mentioned in the CLP that funds would be released in a delayed manner. He further said that BR Patil is close to Siddaramaiah and will sort out the matter.
BR Patil denies sending the letter
In his reaction BR Patil has maintained that the letter has been faked and has been doctored by the BJP. He added that the letter has been sent from his old address. He revealed further that he would lodge a complaint with the SP and seek a fair investigation.
Before coming to power, the Congress has promised as many as five guarantees. Now, as it comes to power and enjoys the rein, it is finding it difficult to source funds to meet the expenses of the five guarantees.
