A strange incident has come to light from the T.B colony in the Hospet Taluk in the Vijayanagar district of Karnataka. A bride named Aishwarya Rai was found dead in mysterious circumstances, with a rope tied around her neck, two days before her marriage. 

The bridegroom’s family had laid out a set of conditions in order for the marriage to be conducted. This was deemed as an absolute necessity. This was due to the fact that the bride belonged to a different caste which was deemed unacceptable by them. The bride’s family has now claimed that this was the instigation for the incident.

Aishwarya was in love with an individual named Ashok. Their relationship blossomed for 7-8 years. “Our families never got along. I warned my daughter against this. Our daughter is strong willed. She would not have committed suicide. They took her along with them by saying that the marriage would happen as per their rituals. They stated that no one from the bride’s family must attend the event. We accepted the terms as our daughter’s love was our priority,” her parents said. 

Aishwarya was taken to three or four hospitals but her life could not be saved. “We have our doubts. This case warrants a proper investigation,” her father said.
