Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, presenting the Karnataka Budget 2025, has announced a significant allocation for Bengaluru’s infrastructure development. The city is set to receive a major boost with key projects aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving urban mobility.

A ₹7,000 crore Bangalore Infrastructure Development Fund has been proposed to support various projects. The Metro Phase 3 project, covering crucial areas, will be developed at a cost of ₹8,916 crore, with a plan to extend the metro network up to Devanahalli.

To enhance road connectivity, the government has approved a 40.5 km double-decker flyover and a 300 km road network using canal buffer areas, requiring ₹3,000 crore in investment. Additionally, a ₹19,000 crore North-South and East-West tunnel corridor project is planned to ease congestion.

The BBMP’s arterial road network, spanning 460 km, will be developed at a cost of ₹660 crore, alongside the construction of 120 km of flyovers and grade separators. The Brand Bangalore project will implement 21 urban projects worth ₹1,800 crore to improve civic infrastructure.

A comprehensive health project worth ₹413 crore has also been proposed to strengthen the city’s healthcare system.

With these investments, the Karnataka government aims to transform Bengaluru’s infrastructure, making it more efficient and commuter-friendly.
