Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched a scathing attack on the opposition BJP following the Congress party’s sweeping victory in the by-elections for Channapatna, Shiggavi, and Sandur constituencies. Addressing the press, Siddaramaiah declared the results as a resounding endorsement of his government’s policies and a rejection of the BJP’s communal politics.

The CM criticised the BJP for making baseless allegations against his administration, including issues related to Waqf lands, scams like MUDA and Valmiki, and the Congress government’s flagship guarantee schemes. He accused the BJP of hypocrisy, pointing out that former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had himself supported decisions concerning Waqf lands in the past, calling the party "two-tongued."
Rebuffing claims that his government’s policies had harmed farmers in the Waqf board matter, Siddaramaiah asserted that no such injustice had occurred. He further accused the BJP of forming alliances to defeat the Congress but noted their failure to achieve their goal.
The CM also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for criticising Congress’s guarantee schemes while implementing similar policies in Maharashtra.
Siddaramaiah concluded by stating that the electorate had reaffirmed its support for the Congress and rejected the BJP’s divisive politics. He described the by-election results as a victory for governance and unity over communal rhetoric.
