A unique modus operandi for carrying out cheating has surfaced in the recently conducted examination by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The incident occurred in the Government Women’s Pre University College in Kalaburgi. Two women had a bluetooth connection attached to their “mangalsutra” (auspicious thread). They were eventually caught in the act.

The examination was conducted for a vacancy in Group-C. An intense search was conducted outside the premises of the examination hall to detect potential malpractices being followed. Hand Held Metal Detectors (HHMDs) were used for this purpose. The candidate were caught during this process.

The two candidates hailed from Raichur. Candidates were asked to remove their toe rings, mangalsutras, ear rings and watches. The two candidates refused to cooperate with regard to removing their mangalsutras. They were since stopped by the personnel responsible for conducting the test from attending.

After an intense argument they agreed to removing them. It is here that their act was caught.

Some candidates returned their mangalsutra to relatives who had come to drop them at the centre. One of the candidates had to get her gold earring cut as she was unable to remove them. Exams were conducted across 11 centres in the city.
