Karnataka: Chaitra Kundapura's aide attacked inside jail

One of the co-conspirators along with Chaitra Kundapura in the cheating of entrepreneur Govind Poojari has been attacked by inmates of the jail during his judicial custody. The incident unfolded more than a week back but has come to light only recently. 

Channa Nayak was lodged in tower barrack number 1. Another person under interrogation was also in the same premises. What started as a verbal disagreement quickly transcended into the two pushing each other. Others too joined in. Chetan, Rajkumar and Yogesh attacked Channa Nayak. Channa Nayak sustained injuries on his nose and eyes. 

Officials in the jail rushed to the spot where the conflict unfolded. They ensured that Channa Nayak was shifted to a hospital. Channa Nayak subsequently received medical care for his injuries.  A case has been registered against the inmates who were involved in the violence in the Parappana Agrahara Police Station. Recently the Central Crime Branch (CCB) had filed a chargesheet pertaining to this with the court. 

Channa Nayak is suspected to have conned Govind Poojari into believing that he is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Central Election Committee Member. A car belonging to Chaitra Kundapura that was found in Mudhol is suspected to have been used by Channa Nayak.
