Tumakuru district's long-held aspiration for an international cricket stadium is finally moving forward. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the project by laying its foundation stone on Sunday. The state-of-the-art stadium will be constructed on 41 acres of land allocated to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB). The site, located at PGollahalli and Sorekunte in the Tumakuru Industrial Corridor, will be developed at an estimated cost of ₹150 crore.

The CM also revealed that 51 acres had been allotted for the project to ensure sufficient space for future developments. The stadium is anticipated to boost cricket’s popularity in the region while contributing to Tumakuru's overall growth. Local fans and players alike have welcomed the development, viewing it as a stepping stone for better cricketing opportunities and economic advancement in the district.
