Scheduled from March 1 to 8, the prestigious festival will host participants from around 60 countries, screening 200 films across 13 theatres in Bengaluru. The festival will feature multiple languages, including Kannada, as per the Karnataka CM’s media group.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the festival on March 1. The event will include 14 curated sections, with three competition categories—Asian, Indian, and Kannada cinema. Other segments will highlight contemporary world cinema, FIPRESCI Critics Week, biopics, Kannada popular films, and lesser-known languages.
Beyond screenings, BIFFes will offer academic engagements such as seminars, workshops, and masterclasses, aiming to educate filmmakers, students, and cinema enthusiasts on industry trends, the art of filmmaking, and historical milestones.
The organizers have extended invitations to filmmakers, critics, students, and film distribution agencies to participate in the festival, promising a rich cinematic experience and knowledge-sharing platform.
BIFFes remains a significant event in India’s film circuit, bringing global cinema to Bengaluru while fostering creative and intellectual discussions in the industry.
