Former Congress MP DK Suresh has stated that while he once aspired for his brother, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Acknowledging Siddaramaiah as the present CM, he emphasized that leadership changes should only be pursued when the opportunity arises, rather than forcing the issue.

Suresh also dismissed BJP’s criticism of Shivakumar, urging them to focus on their internal matters instead of targeting his brother. He asserted that the Deputy CM had informed the party high command before attending Sadhguru’s event related to Mahashivaratri, refuting allegations of any political motives behind the visit.

Defending Shivakumar’s religious beliefs, Suresh described him as a devoted Hindu who has been visiting temples for over three decades. He revealed that their parents had made a vow before his birth and that temple visits have been an integral part of his spiritual journey. He stressed that as a Hindu, it is Shivakumar’s duty to uphold cultural traditions while also respecting all religions and castes.

Suresh further stated that Shivakumar has received spiritual initiation from his gurus, guiding his actions in accordance with the principles of human welfare. The Congress leader’s remarks come amid ongoing political debates surrounding religious affiliations and governance in Karnataka.
