A B.Tech graduate in mechanical engineering, Akash Mantale from Bidar was one among the three candidates apprehended by the police in Yadgir on Sunday during Karnataka Examination Authorty’s (KEA) examination for a First Division Assistant (FDA) on 29th October. He had carried a bluetooth device along with him to the examination centre which the police recovered. 

Akash worked for a private company in Bengaluru and was earning in the range of Rs 80,000 per month. His focus was however more towards this competitive examination. His desire for a government job made him try his hand in malpractice. 

He struck a deal with the kingpin of the scam R.D Patil  for Rs 25 lakh. He had even paid an advance sum of Rs 8 lakh in this regard. R.D Patil is also believed to have been the mastermind behind the Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) recruitment scam. He is currently absconding.  

Akash Mantle was nabbed even before he entered the examination centre as the security process was tightened on account of prior information with the police. It is being reported that the three candidates arrived late at the examination centre located in Afzalpur. They assumed that the security measures would be more relaxed in that case but were nevertheless nabbed.
