Karnataka suffered a major loss against Haryana in their Group C encounter in the ADSA Railways Cricket Ground in Ahmedabad on December 3rd. They were bowled out for 142 with no one from the top order even able to cross 25. At a point in the game, even reaching a three digit score seemed distant but a late flourish by right arm medium fast bowler Vijaykumar Vyshak after the team was reduced to 74 at the loss of 8 wickets helped them push their score. Vyshak’s 61-ball 54 consisted of 4 fours and 4 sixes. He even contributed with the ball with one wicket.
Karnataka however were unable to capitalise on their three early wickets, with Nishanth Sandhu and Rohit Sharma stitching a 99-run partnership for the 4th wicket after being reduced to 35 at the loss of three wickets.
Haryana have yet so far, maintained an unbeaten streak in the group stage guaranteeing them a spot in the quarter final.
Despite the loss, Karnataka too are guaranteed a spot in the quarter final. Uttarakhand has an opportunity to be level with Karnataka in terms of points. But since Karnataka prevailed in their encounter with Uttarakhand, they would be proceeding into the next round. The quarter finals would be held on 9th December and 11th December.
