  • Eshwarappa claimed that Yediyurappa promised him that Kantesh will contest from Haveri
  • My followers are urging me to contest as an independent candidate: Eshwarappa
  • Eshwarappa claimed that those advocating for Hindutva are being sidelined

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka K.S Eshwarappa has expressed his discontentment over his son not being considered as a candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha Election. Eshwarappa has claimed that Yediyurappa promised him that Kantesh will be given the ticket from Haveri. He stated that Kantesh even visited people from the region due to this promise. Eshwarappa expressed disappointment over Yediyurappa supposedly not keeping his promise. “ It is similar to squeezing one’s mother’s neck. Based on their individual achievement, what is the stance you must take? Not just Kantesh. C.T Ravi, Sadananda Gowda and Pratap Simha have also faced injustice. This sentiment is also being echoed by many supporters. My followers are urging me to contest as an independent candidate from Shivamogga. This is about my future, Karnataka’s future and BJP’s future. I will hold a meeting on March 15th and take an apt decision later,” Eshwarappa claimed.

Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has been finalised as the contestant from Haveri. Eshwarappa has characterised Bommai and Shobha Karnadlaje’s candidature as stubbornness from Yediyurappa’s end. Eshwarappa claimed that those advocating for Hindutva are systematically being sidelined. Shobha Karandlaje will contest from the Bengaluru North constituency.
