Suchitra felt that Tejas wasn’t reposting to her text messages and calls in a timely manner

This made Tejas return to his town immediately

A man who was grazing cows stumbled upon the body

20-year-old Suchitra was pursuing a B.Tech degree in computer science in a government college in the Mosale village in the Hassan district in the state of Karnataka. She was in a relationship with Tejas who was a student in the same college. Tejas hailed from the Shankaranahalli village. Their relationship bloomed for a while.

Tejas subsequently landed a job in Bengaluru after having finished his course. It is here that complications arose in their relationship. Suchitra felt that Tejas wasn’t reposting to her text messages and calls in a timely manner after having settled in Bengaluru. She broke up with Tejas over this. Tejas then made multiple attempts to reach out to Suchitra after this. Suchitra asked him to leave her alone. This made Tejas return to his town immediately.

On 16th November, Suchitra borrowed Rs 100 from her father and left for college. Tejas stopped her enroute and asked her to accompany him to Kuntigudda as he had something important to say.

He promised her that his behaviour would change. He even slit his wrist to convince her. When all his attempts failed he slashed her throat and fled from the spot.

A man who was grazing cows stumbled upon the body. He informed the police. The Hassan rural police successfully nabbed Tejas within a few hours.

Suchitra’s family had relocated to Hassan from Bengaluru. Her father is an auto driver and her mother works in a garment factory. Suchitra showed promise in academics. She felt the affair was a distraction. Her parents pleaded for justice to be delivered in this case.
