Addiction to mobile phones and gadgets has become a menace among children these days. Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR) has taken cognizance of this menace among children and is working towards it.
In an attempt to beat the menace of mobile phone usage among children, KSCPCR has constituted an expert committee to study the impact of mobile phone usage by children on their physical, social and psychological health. The committee has been formed and directed to submit a report on the matter within three months.
Expert members from various departments like education, women and child development, social welfare and police among other departments are part of this committee on studying the impact of mobile phone usage among children.
Parents are finding it very difficult to evade their children from using mobile phones, even after consulting psychologists and doctors, they are still helpless in keeping their children away from using mobile phones.
The committee is to come up with plans and measures to tackle mobile phone usage and how this problem can be address by studying the root cause for mobile phone addiction among children across the state and what can prevent children from using mobile phones excessively.
