Train to cover 609.81 km between Yeshwantpur and Kacheguda in 8.30 hours
Kalyan Karnataka region passengers disappointed, as it does not run via Raichur
This train operated by SCR will undergo its primary maintenance at Kacheguda
On September 25, Karnataka is poised to get its third Vande Bharat Express, establishing a new rail connection between the technological hubs of Bengaluru and Hyderabad, according to railway authorities.
This premium semi-high-speed train is projected to cover the 609.81 km distance between Yeshwantpur and Kacheguda in just 8.30 hours, boasting an average speed of 71.74 kmph.
This travel time is one hour shorter than the current fastest train, the Duronto Express. However, it’s worth noting that the Vande Bharat Express will not make any additional stops within Karnataka. This has left passengers from the Kalyan Karnataka region disappointed, as they had hoped for a route that passed through Raichur and included a stop at Yelahanka.
Operated by the South Central Railway (SCR), headquartered in Secunderabad, the train will undergo its primary maintenance at Kacheguda.
The official flag-off ceremony is scheduled for September 24 at Kacheguda, where the train will make stops at most major stations along its route. Commercial operations are slated to commence the following day, according to an SCR official.
This marks the third Vande Bharat Express for both Karnataka and Telangana. Karnataka’s previous two Vande Bharat trains connect Mysuru to Chennai via Bengaluru and Bengaluru to Dharwad, while Telangana’s first two Vande Bharat trains link Secunderabad with Visakhapatnam and Tirupati.
