The Karnataka Food Safety and Quality Department is considering a ban on panipuri following recent surveys that found carcinogenic elements in its ingredients. This potential ban comes on the heels of similar restrictions on Gobi and kebabs due to health risks.
A comprehensive survey conducted in 49 areas of Bengaluru revealed alarming levels of carcinogens in the sauces and other ingredients commonly used in panipuri. These findings have raised significant public health concerns, prompting discussions on regulating or banning these harmful substances.
