Karnataka: Government to make announcement on aid for unemployed in Vidhana Soudha

The Karnataka Government is making preparations to implement one among their five guarantees which is the “Yuva Nidhi”. An announcement will be made in this regard in the Vidhana Soudha at 11 AM. The date from which the scheme would be implemented will be revealed. 

Legislator Dr. Sharan Prakash will make the announcement. The registration might be expected to commence from December end. The complete details pertaining to this will be brought to light later in the day. 

The scheme will be applicable to those who have passed out in the year 2022-23 and have not been able to secure employment for a period of 6 months. An amount of Rs 3000 per month will be granted to all degree holders of professional courses. Those having a diploma will be provided a monthly grant of Rs 1500 per month. This scheme would be applicable for a maximum of 2 years. Those securing employment are required to inform the authorities immediately for the grant to stop. A failure to do so will result in a fine. 

The registration will happen through the “Seva Sindhu” portal. Those who have procured loans to finance a startup are also ineligible to apply for this scheme.
