A woman from Davanagere, Vijayalakshmi, who is the director of Vishwachetana School, has allegedly lost a staggering ₹10 crore in an online investment scam. She claims that she was lured into the investment by Umesh, a government official from the fisheries department. Umesh reportedly convinced her to invest in a company called Gold Snatch, promising that her initial investment would grow to ₹23 crore. Vijayalakshmi received numerous messages claiming her money would double, leading her to trust the scheme.

However, when she attempted to withdraw her funds, she discovered that there was no money in her account. This raised her suspicions, and she filed a complaint with the Davanagere cyber police. Upon investigation, the case was registered and has since been transferred to the Crime Investigation Department (CID) for further probe.

The scam has left Vijayalakshmi devastated, and the authorities are now working to track down those responsible. The incident highlights the increasing number of online investment frauds and serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of trusting unsolicited financial offers. The CID is expected to delve deeper into the matter to uncover the full extent of the scam and bring the culprits to justice.
