In a major reprieve for Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the Karnataka High Court has declined to order a CBI probe into the ongoing Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam. The decision brought relief to Siddaramaiah and his supporters, who accused complainant Snehamayi Krishna of acting out of vendetta.

The MUDA scam has stirred controversy over an alleged land exchange scheme, where less valuable plots were swapped for prime real estate in Mysuru. The allegations gained traction after claims that Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi Siddaramaiah, unfairly benefited from the deal. Opposition parties estimate the scam’s worth at ₹3,000 crore, with accusations that land originally belonging to the Dalit community was illicitly transferred.

Complainant Snehamayi Krishna has alleged that MUDA forged documents to facilitate illegal transactions. The accusations also extend to Siddaramaiah’s brother-in-law, Mallikarjuna Swamy Devaraj, further escalating political tensions.

In response, the Chief Minister has dismissed all allegations, asserting that the transactions were lawful. He further claimed that MUDA developed a layout on a four-acre plot owned by his wife without proper acquisition procedures.

The case continues to generate heated political debate, with opposition leaders demanding a deeper probe into the alleged irregularities and the role of high-profile figures in the scandal.
