In a fresh twist to the Renukaswamy murder case, actor Darshan and Pavithra Gowda may face renewed legal troubles. The Karnataka Home Department has approved an appeal to the Supreme Court challenging the bail granted by a single-judge bench of the High Court.
On December 13, the High Court granted bail to seven accused, including Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and five others—Lakshman, Pradush, Nagaraju, Anukumar, and Jagadish. The police have since prepared an appeal against this decision, with the case files, including a translated charge sheet, already submitted to the Home Department.

Anil C. Nishani, the Supreme Court advocate on record, has been appointed to represent the matter. Reports suggest that the Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) is set to file the appeal in the Supreme Court as early as tomorrow.
This development comes after allegations in the Chitradurga-based Renukaswamy case drew public attention. The High Court’s decision to grant bail had provided temporary relief to the accused, but the government’s decision to escalate the matter to the Supreme Court signals continued legal challenges.
Both Darshan and Pavithra Gowda remain in the spotlight, with sources hinting at potential complications as the case progresses. The appeal's outcome will determine whether their bail status is overturned, intensifying the scrutiny surrounding this high-profile case.
