The Divisional Railway Manager of Hubballi announced the cancellation of the Hubballi- Bengaluru Superfast Express Special on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account. Chief Public Relations Officer of the Hubballi division of the South Western Railways, Aneesh Hegde also made a press release pertaining to this. This was shared on the X account of the South Western Railways. Poor occupancy has been stated as the reason for this move. “Train No. 07340/07339 KSR Bengaluru – SSS Hubballi – KSR Bengaluru Superfast Express commencing journey from KSR Bengaluru from 20.11.2023 and from SSS Hubballi from 21.11.2023 will remain cancelled until further advice due to poor occupancy,” the press release stated. 


Both the trains were initially scheduled to run until 31st December and 1st January respectively. 07339 SSS Hubballi to KSR Bengaluru Superfast train would depart from the Hubballi Railway Station at 11:15 PM and arrive at the KSR Bengaluru Railway Station at 6:50 AM. 07340 KSR Bengaluru to SSS Hubballi Superfast Express train would depart Bengaluru at 11:55 PM and arrive at the SSS Hubballi railway station at 7:30 AM.

This decision was met with significant disappointment from many on the internet. “Show us the occupancy data of at least the last 3 months to prove this. You guys are cancelling & approving based on your personal interests instead of public interest,’ a user commented.
