The obscene videos emerging from Hassan, supposedly belonging to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Prajwal Revanna, have now created shockwaves at the national level. This has caused unease in the Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) camp. They are now in damage control mode.

Amidst pressure from other Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), former Chief Minister of Karnataka HD Kumaraswamy has been forced to take strict measures against Prajwal Revanna. A core committee meeting of the JD(S) will take place in Hubballi on 30th April. The formal announcement of the removal of Prajwal Revanna from the party will likely be made after the meeting.
