It has been 11 days since the hill collapse resulted in loss of lives in the Shirur region of Karnataka. Heavy rains resulted in the unprecedented event as the collapsed portion of the hill fell over a tea shop located close to a hotel. The search for 3 dead bodies is underway. Search operations for a lorry and its driver Arjun are using the latest technology. It is being reported that the lorry fell into a water body close to the site of collapse. The lorry is said to be present at a location 15 feet below the water body. Drones equipped with the intelligent underground buried object detection system technology are being used.
This drone is capable of identifying objects that lie in extreme depths. Apart from depth, the drone also makes note of the direction of the orientation of the object and several other parameters. The drone consists of a scanner that even works underwater. The drone can identify objects inside sand, snow and mountainous terrains. Objects as far as 2.4 kilometres away can be identified using this technology. The drone combines principles of radio frequencies with artificial intelligence. The drone has been developed by Inwork Technologies, a partner of Quick Pay Private Limited located in Noida.
