The Lokayukta conducted raids across 70 locations in the state including 11 in the state capital, Bengaluru. Cash, gold and illegal assets have been discovered in the process.
The premises of the Deputy Director of the Labour Department, Srinivas was also subject to search by the Lokayukta officials. The search was conducted across three of his residences including one in Bengaluru and one in the Kollegal taluk in the Chamarajanagar district of Karnataka. Furthermore some of his assets present in locations such as Ullal, Byadarahalli and Sunkadakatte were also assessed as part of the investigation.
Cash amounting to Rs 8 lakh and 200 grams of gold have been recovered in the process. Furthermore, a 40 by 60 land in Mysuru, A farmhouse stretching up to 7 acres near the Sathegala village in the Kollegal taluk of the Chamarajanagar district of Karnataka and a Neon Safari car that was bought through a proxy and two scooters have resurfaced from the raids that were conducted. Initially Srinivas had denied ownership of the car. The officials then produced before him a video wherein he is seen performing Ayudha Pooja (Worship of weapons or tools) to the car. He then admitted to being the car’s owner. A site that was bought in the Bannur Road, a car bought in his daughter’s name and 10 expensive watches to light.
