Karnataka: Lokayukta officials conduct raids across 30 locations to investigate 6 complaints

The Lokayukta has conducted raids across several locations including Bengaluru, Ramanagara and Bellary. 

6 complaints are being investigated across 30 locations across Karnataka. The Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) of the Kundana village Padmanabh’s residence and farmhouse were subject to raid. 

A house in the Malleshwaram region of Begaluru was also subject to scrutiny. A 4-storied building in the Saptagiri Layout in Bengaluru was also examined. 5 acre plot for cultivation also serving as a farmhouse  in Anupanahalli was paid a visit by the Lokayukta. Commercial complexes in the Tumkur including a godown in the city’s industrial area were examined. 

The Chief General Manager of the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) ML Nagaraju was another person of interest for the Lokayukta. 7 locations pertaining to him were subject to raids. Of these were 5 properties across Bellary and 2 petrol bunks. 

6 of the complaints belonged to individuals from 3 districts of Karnataka. 

Earlier in the day, reports had emerged about the properties of a Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) official Manjesh being subject to a Lokayukta raid in Mandya. 3 properties across Mandya were looked into. Several documents were also being analysed as a part of the investigations.
