In a major crackdown on corruption, Lokayukta officials conducted early morning raids at the residences and offices of several government officials across the state. The officials are accused of amassing wealth beyond their known sources of income.

The raids targeted eight officials, including senior engineers, medical officers, and district-level administrators. Among those under scrutiny are DPAR Chief Engineer T.D. Nanjundappa, BBMP Executive Engineer H.B. Kalleshappa, BESCOM AEE G. Nagaraj, and Kalaburagi State Highway Development Unit Officer Jagannath. Others include Davanagere Food Safety Officer G.S. Nagaraju, Tumkur Tavarakere Primary Health Center Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jagadish, Bagalkot Zilla Panchayat Engineering FDA Mallappa Sabanna, and Vijayapura Housing Board FDA Shivanand Shivashankar Kembhavi.

Lokayukta officials arrived at their residences unannounced, leaving many shocked as they opened their doors. Important documents related to their properties, financial transactions, and other valuables were seized as part of the investigation.

The raids, conducted in multiple locations, including Bengaluru’s Silicon City, aim to expose illicit wealth accumulated through corruption. Authorities are now verifying documents to establish the extent of financial irregularities.

The Lokayukta has been actively pursuing cases of corruption, and this operation is expected to lead to further action against those involved in misusing public office for personal gain. More details will emerge as investigations progress.
