Consultations with experts from Thrissur will be held
It has been 14 days since heavy rains caused a hill collapse in the Shirur region of the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. However information about 3 people who went missing due to the hill collapse is yet to be procured. Currently the operation has been brought to a halt. The search could be expected to continue.
The Gangavali river is being looked at a site wherein the bodies of the 3 missing persons may be recovered. The efforts to lift the lorry which has fallen into the river have been brought to a halt. It may continue after the water level in the river reduces. This is expected to happen if and when there is a reduction in the quantity of rain the region has received.

The district administration stated that the stalled operations will continue after a round of consultations with experts from the Thrissur region of Kerala. Legislators from Kerala are reported to have requested for assistance in identifying the lorry and Arjun who was driving the lorry.
The soil along National Highway 66 has now been removed. Preparations are underway to make the road safe for travel. The highway was closed for 13 days. The GSI report is awaited in this regard.
