Nadeem, a mechanic by profession, bought the e-scooter for ₹1.4 lakh about a month ago. However, just days after the purchase, he began experiencing issues with the vehicle’s battery and sound system. Frustrated by what he described as repeated failures to resolve his complaints, Nadeem took matters into his own hands.
According to police reports, he poured petrol inside the showroom and set it ablaze. The fire gutted six vehicles and destroyed computer systems, causing an estimated loss of ₹8.5 lakh. Visuals from the scene showed thick smoke billowing from the shop as the fire raged.
Nadeem has since been arrested, and a case has been registered against him. The incident highlights rising tensions around customer service and technical issues in the rapidly growing electric vehicle sector. Despite the customer’s grievances, the drastic action has led to widespread shock, with the destroyed showroom now under investigation for damages.
