He became emotional as soon as he stepped out of the Mangaluru airport. His mother Hemavathi hugged him as tears of joy flowed from her eyes.
While Chandrashekhar tried purchasing a sim card in Saudi Arabia, his confidential details were compromised. A bank account registered in his name then received a sum of Rs 22,000 from an unknown woman. This was the cause for Chandrashekhar’s arrest.
Due to the efforts of several people including the foreign ministry of India, the release of Chandrashekar was secured.
Chandrashekhar was working with Alfanar Ceramics in Bengaluru before a promotion took him to Riyadh. The store in which he purchased the sim had misused his biometrics to create a fake account under his name.
In jail, Chandrashekhar would only be given a time of 2 minutes per day to talk to his friends and relatives. His friends arranged for Rs 10 lakh to arrange for a lawyer and simultaneously also built pressure at a political level. His company also helped in this regard in later stages.
