The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) launched its popular Nandini brand milk and dairy products in the Delhi-NCR market on Thursday, with competitive pricing aimed at rivaling established players like Mother Dairy and Amul. The initiative was recently inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who emphasized the federation’s strategy to capitalize on surplus milk production.

Starting Friday, KMF retailed four variants of cow milk, curd, and buttermilk. Products are priced to attract consumers, with Cow Milk at ₹56 per litre, Full Cream Milk at ₹67 per litre, Standardised Milk at ₹61 per litre, Toned Milk at ₹55 per litre, and Curd at ₹74 per kg.
"We have a surplus of 40 lakh litres daily, and this expansion allows us to market 3-4 lakh litres per day in Delhi-NCR," Siddaramaiah said. He acknowledged the logistical challenge of transporting milk over 2,500 km, a process that takes 50-54 hours.
KMF Chairman LBP Bheemanaik assured that stringent measures are in place to maintain milk quality during transit. The federation has partnered with 40 local dealers to ensure smooth distribution.
With a robust network of 26.76 lakh milk producers, 15,737 cooperative societies, and a turnover of ₹25,000 crore, KMF exports dairy products to over 25 countries. State Ministers K Venkatesh and N Cheluvarayaswamy also attended the launch, signaling strong government support for the cooperative’s expansion.
