Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Chikkaballapur from the Indian National Congress (INC), Pradeep Eshwar has launched a proactive campaign against stone crushers in his district.

There are more than a hundred stone quarries and seventy stone crushers in the state. The repercussions of this device on the environment is tremendous. There is also an allegation that government rules are being flouted with the usage of these devices.

In Yalagalahalli, which falls beside Peresandra in Chikkaballapur there are 42 stone crushers. They cause dust, noise, bad smell and environmental pollution. Supporters of Pradeep Eshwar demonstrated against its usage. They got inside the crusher and put a hold on the tipper to express their anger. The Mines and Geology Department had yielded to their protest. For a period of a few days, the stone crushers were not being put to use.

Not a single tipper was on the roads. But after a while the crushers and quarries had resurfaced. This has caused irritation to Pradeep Eshwar.

The dust generated from the crushers in Aadhenagarahalli, Bashettihalli, Peresandra, Hale Peresandra, Setivarahalli, Hoovinavarahalli, Muthukadahalli has caused health related problems for the villagers nearby. Pradeep has hence made a request to people in this regard.
