Testing has already begun, with CV Raman Hospital conducting four RT-PCR tests yesterday and expecting reports today. Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has instructed hospitals to not only carry out testing but also get dedicated COVID-19 wards ready. Accordingly, CV Raman Hospital has arranged a special ward with eight ventilator beds and 20 additional beds, complete with essential supplies like sanitizers.

Victoria Hospital is also setting up a separate COVID ward with 50 beds, located in the H Block. This ward includes 40 beds with central oxygen supply and 10 ICU beds. Dr. Srinivas Ramakrishna, RMO of Victoria Hospital, confirmed that preparations are in place, with dedicated male and female COVID wards each having 20 beds.

The health authorities have reassured the public that while the situation is being monitored closely, there is no immediate need to panic. The proactive measures reflect a focus on preparedness and prevention, aiming to manage any potential surge in cases effectively.
