A major controversy has broken out in Karnataka after Radhamma, the Sub-Registrar of Pavagada, was seen in a viral video making politically charged statements favouring the BJP while criticising the Congress — all while on duty in a government office.

In the video, Radhamma is heard saying, “If Congress had continued ruling India, India would have been destroyed. Siddaramaiah gave things free to women, but increased the prices of other commodities like fruits and vegetables.” The remarks have drawn strong backlash for violating the expected neutrality of a government official.

She is also accused of refusing to cooperate with Congress workers who approach her office, raising serious concerns about political bias affecting the functioning of public services. Critics say her behaviour reflects an undue allegiance to the BJP, undermining democratic norms and the integrity of the civil service.

Radhamma reportedly made disparaging comments about Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and mocked the state’s guarantee schemes, further inflaming the controversy.

Many have demanded immediate disciplinary action, calling her conduct “a breach of official duty.” The state government has not yet issued a formal response, but pressure is mounting for an inquiry.
