Karnataka: Police issue notice to K.S Eshwarappa over his comments on D.K Suresh

Former Deputy Chief Minister (DCM) of Karnataka from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) K.S Eshwarappa has received a notice from the Davangere Police after his statement that there must a law to shoot leaders such as Indian National Congress (INC) Member of Parliament (MP) from Bengaluru Rural D.K Suresh and INC Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Dharwad Vinay Kulkarni for their alleged secessionist statements. 

The police entered the residence of K.S Eshwarappa in the Malleshwara region of Shivamogga at 8:30 A.M on February 10th. He has been charged under sections 505 (1)( c ), 505(2) And 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). These sections cover violations pertaining to criminal intimidation and inciting violence. A notice was served to him under the provision of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) section 41A. Eshwarappa is required to explain the context and extent of truth pertaining to these allegations. The police have established grounds to conduct a preliminary enquiry. He has been ordered to present himself in front of the police for the enquiry which will be conducted by Latha V. Thalekar. The proceedings from the police pertaining to this case will start on 15th February.
