The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike has announced a statewide movement on July 1, calling for mandatory job reservations for Kannadigas in the private sector, specifically targeting the food industry. This protest, led by its president TA Narayana Gowda, seeks to address the increasing employment opportunities for non-Kannadigas, which it argues is causing significant injustice to local residents.

In a recent statement, Gowda emphasized the need for a massive sit-in Satyagraha across Karnataka to push for the implementation of the Sarojini Mahishi report, which advocates for job reservations for Kannadigas. The key demands include:
- Enacting a strong law to guarantee job reservations for Kannadigas.
- Reserving 100% of Grade C and D posts in private institutions for Kannadigas.
- Allocating 80% of other private sector jobs to Kannadigas.
- Defining Kannadigas as those who have lived in the state for fifteen years and have passed a Kannada language examination.
- Revoking licenses and privileges of non-compliant organizations and filing criminal cases against them.
- Ensuring 100% reservation for Kannadigas in state government organizations and public sector jobs.
- Reserving 100% of Group C and D posts in central government departments for Kannadigas, with 90% reservation for other posts.
- Including provisions to take action against officials who fail to enforce these reservations.
- Empowering Kannada authorities to enforce state government laws.
Karnataka Rakshana Vedike highlights the recent influx of job seekers from other states to Bengaluru, resulting in limited opportunities for Kannadigas in the private sector. They argue that these measures are necessary to ensure fair employment opportunities for the local population.
