A user on Facebook expressed concerns pertaining to his trip to Mysuru which for which he used the Bengaluru- Mysuru expressway. He claimed that he was charged Rs 320 for the one way toll. He found that the path was accessible by pedestrians for most of its route. There were ample instances of pedestrians crossing the expressway. There was not sufficient barricading of the skirting as well. There were not enough police personnel at spots for monitoring speed limits. There were no ambulances close to the tolls either to deal with emergencies. There were cars parked on the skirting opposite restaurants. He had tagged MA Saleem, Director General of Police. He questioned the absence of the police and enquired about what supervisory steps the expressway contractors are taking.
The post was shared widely on Twitter with many other users backing up the points made the user and highlighting other shortcomings as well. There have been instances of wrong side driving as well. 2 wheelers have been spotted despite notifications against using it on the expressway. There have been cases of people avoiding toll through the service road as well. The fast tag scanners at the toll plaza have been facing issues as well. Their slow processing is causing a traffic pile up. What was envisioned to connect 2 powerhouses of Karnataka has attracted controversy ever since its inception.
Also there is an issue with Seshagirihalli toll plaza(towards #Bengaluru) "fasttag scanners". They don't read properly or are very slow causing traffic pileup@MORTHIndia@mepratap
