The 49th birthday of the Minister of Labour Department of Karnataka Santosh Lad was celebrated in a grand fashion. Apart from being a celebration of his birthday, it was also an occasion wherein messages of Lord Buddha, philosopher Basavanna and Dr B.R Ambedkar were conveyed to those who attended the program. The program was conducted in the Dr Puneet Rajkumar Stadium located in the Hosapete city which forms a part of the Vijayanagar district of Karnataka.

Santosh Lad is known for his straightforward approach and clarity in thought. He is a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Kalaghatagi Taluk. The Santosh Lad Foundation conducted the event celebrating his birthday.  Santosh is reported to have imbibed the philosophy of Buddha, Basavanna and Ambedkar in his personal life as well. He explained the importance of the constitution while addressing a gathering during his birthday. Lamps were lit and flowers were offered to the photos of Buddha, Basavanna and Ambedkar. Songs about Basavanna and Ambedkar composed by V Nagendra Prasad were played on this occasion. He also thanked his well wishers. 

Many popular figures within the Indian National Congress (INC) such as Jignesh Mevani, Kanhaiya Kumar and B.Nagendra were present on this occasion.
