Congress MLA Satish Jarkiholi has displayed his ideological leanings through the nameplate of his car. He has purchased a car with the date of birth of Ambedkar on the number plate. The number plate of his Innova car reads KA 01 GB 1404. This has been made available through a special request.  MLAs of the Congress government have allegedly been allocated 9 cars each by the government. 

It has been a practice among many to get their customised name plates based on their beliefs in numerology. Satish Jarkiholi, who is a publicly avowed Ambedkarite is also in opposition to such practices deemed by him as superstitious. His move can also be seen in light of a subtle opposition to this. Satish Jarkiholi had also taken his vow after being elected as an MLA in the name of Buddha-Basava and Ambedkar earlier this year. 

Actor Chetan Ahimsa, often in the news for his strong opinions opposed this display. “Satish Jarkiholi get Ambedkar’s birthdate (1404) on new govt car’s plate,  Gimmicky!
